I highly encourage you to do some of your own basic car maintenance if you own a vehicle.

A few things that are very easy to do and will save you money (Yes, I can do all the things listed below.)

1. Change your oil
2. Fill your own liquids (Windshield Wash, Anti-Freeze, Oil)
3. Replace your own windshiled wipers

There are some other things that are pretty easy to do on most vehicles: Changing your radiator, the battery, and alternator.

Head down to your library and check out some Dummies books on car care. Why pay someone else to do it, when it's easy and will save you money.

Plus you know it's getting done right. I've heard stories of mechanics forgetting to add oil. Or leaving tools inside the car and doing extreme damage to the motor.

And won't your significant other be surprised when you get out to help change that flat tire?!?
