I was going to post yesterday, but the numerous times I tried, blogger was down. Oh well...
Our garages, for the most part, are cleaned out! There are still some misc. items that we have to get rid of, but yesterday DH took the final van load down to his dad's house. He also exchanged vans with him, so we now have a "new" minivan.
FIL is also taking $500 off the debt we owe him, for the difference between the two vans. Although I think we're getting a better deal! We traded a 1 ton bare bones cargo van (that we rarely use) for a nice minivan (which will be used much more often on trips and errands).
He may also be taking $1000 off since DH has been helping him with a small claims court deal he's been doing regarding the house he just bought this summer. The seller (who is also the realtor that sold him the house) did repairs that were not up to code. FIL was not told about them, until after the sale of the house, when he had to get them fixed immediately.
I'm not sure if he'll take the $1000 off even if he doesn't win the case, but I can pretty well bet he will....
The house is still up for sale, but in a few days when the contract is up with our realtor, we're going to take it off the market until January. We'll do some more painting and cleaning in between time, and hopefully this time we will have a quick sale.

People post items that they want to get rid of for free. You never know what treasures you may find that you have been needing. And what a great way to get rid of your own stuff without having to spend money to take it to the dump.
(Wish we would have know about this before we started cleaning out the garages!)
